AN10

大学一年生の頃の時の話。
初めてまともにポスターに向き合った課題で、ヨーロッパのコンサートのようなデザインを選んだ。
その時は、ポスターの出来よりも、
ヨーロッパのような装飾のパーツを作る楽しさと、
スクリプト体の文字の扱いを考えることに夢中になっていた。

それは、ひたすら方眼紙に絵を描いたり、本の一部から模様を模写したり、
それをパソコンに取り込んで繋げてみたり、
地道にやることで出来上がってくる楽しさを覚えさせてくれる作業だった。

今では音楽科のコンサートのチラシに始まり、
いろんなデザインで応用させられる自分の武器になっている。

それは、どうも装飾というくくりの中に入るらしい。
モダニズムの中では「無駄」なものとして省かれていくもの。
デザインの中にも「シンプルにする」という言葉がよくあるけど、人の心を動かすのはそれだけではないのだと思う。

現代美術館で開催中の展示「AN10 装飾」には、装飾と呼ばれるものの可能性が見いだせられると思う。
良く出来ました、頑張りました。それだけで終わらないようにするのは特に難しい。それは詰めが甘いと散漫になりやすいから。
だから、こういった装飾でまとめあげられている作品こそ、私は「シンプル」だと感じられる。

見せ方も綺麗な展示でした。
あと、カタログの表紙が四種類あるのは楽しいね！どれも良くて迷ったけど、上の写真のやつ選んだ。

When I was a freshman,
I had made a poster at first, I designed like of concert at European.
I enjoyed to make ornaments that like of European, and to use a style of script type face.
So it is gave enjoyment that drowing and making ornaments and so on to me.
Now, it is my weapon everytime when I make design.

It seems to be called a decoration.
Age of Modanism, It is taboo.
Designers sometimes said "Simple is best".
but I think it is not best.
Because decoration is difficult to arrange. So if you can arranged decorations, it is better than simple.

I noticed it by exhibitions that is holding in the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
